Argentium 940 Silver Orchid Earring Studs CUSTOM ORDER with handmade backings

These delicate Orchid earring studs were made from Argentium silver (940/1000), that is richer in silver content than regular Sterling Silver (925/1000). They were constructed for the most part through autogenous welding, meaning no solder was used except for attaching the handmade earring post. The earring backing was also handmade.
Argentium silver is especially interesting for people who experience mild irritation when wearing Sterling Silver earrings, as it is hypoallergenic. Argentium silver contains about 1.2% Germanium, that inhibits the copper from reacting in the silver, and inhibits tarnishing (they stay white). Argentium is a bit more labor intensive, as it requires also a hardening process of several hours in the oven: this makes jewellery made in Argentium slightly more expensive than Sterling Silver.
The size of the earrings is ca. 14 mm tall and 13 mm wide, the earring post is 1 mm. The weight of the earrings including the backings is ca. 3 g.
