Heart Times Jewellery cares about the emotional aspects of jewellery, beyond the more obvious function for personal adornment and identity. My aim is to create jewellery that brings joy and that can stand the test of time.
Jewellery is often tied to memories and social bonds - many people will have been gifted at least one piece of jewellery from a loved one in their lifetime that holds special meaning to them. Sometimes this can also be tied to a specific place a piece of jewellery was purchased. Every time you look at or wear that piece of jewellery, you might be remembering that person or place. Jewellery is embedded in all kinds of social, religious and spiritual functions that are significant in our societies. This can be a birth, baptism, engagement, marriage but also gifts to strengthen business relations.
Think about a piece of jewellery you like to wear, when you’re just about to do something important. You’d probably pick something that gives you confidence or makes you feel good about yourself.
My hope is that my jewellery can contribute to you living authentically, feeling comfortable in your own skin and speaking your voice. I also aim to create solutions that support people with disability, neurodiversity or ailments, such as for example: blindness, autism and arthritis (I’m autistic). This will not only be in the design but will also be connected to the type of gemstone I pair it with. During my own spiritual twinflame journey, I learned that everything actually is energy. Some people will find this superstition - in that case, you can still enjoy the design and the gemstone for its own beauty.
The style of Heart Times Jewellery can be described as a blend of whimsical with ecclectic. There is a spiritual / soulful component to the jewellery that references things like a life journey, the cosmos and the memories and love that remains even after someone has passed over. The whimsy is just intended to make people smile. I create jewellery that I enjoy, with funny ideas sometimes that I simply need to try out. You will see that appear from time to time.
I use primarily several types of silver alloys to create my jewellery designs, occasionally however I will use accents in gold or create jewellery in gold. These include two types of “sterling silver” (925/1000, 935/1000) as well as the hypoallergenic 935/940 Argentium).
I do not like to use gold-filled or gold vermeil for reasons of durability: I intend to create jewellery that can stand the test of time and be handed down one day as a piece of heirloom. In a sense, gold vermeil is silver masquerading as gold (gold- filled even has a brass core). I personally always loved silver for its own properties. It is true, that silver can oxidize if not worn regularly, but a quick polish with a silver cloth that you receive with your order is all it needs.
